Plan. Do. Fail. Repeat.

Many say they don't make resolutions for the new year, while the rest of us are the first to set goals, make promises to ourselves, and likely, walk into the new year with more ambition than we know what to do with.
But by day three, we have given up on that 5am spin class we agreed to go to with our friends and have decided to attempt Tolstoy next year. I mean, it's not like we're in high school anymore right? We don't have required reading as adults. And instead of practicing 1-hour of Italian each day, let's just knock that down to once a week. It's not like we can travel overseas right now anyway...so learning a new language can wait too.
And now here you are, approaching a new month. I guess there is no point in going back in attempting those goals anymore right? January is now the past and you have failed at everything you wanted to accomplish, so I guess you'll just have to wait until the next year to start again.
Look at that self-talk you're doing! No. What you need to do is stop with the negative self-talk and hit the re-set button. You CAN start again. And you CAN still accomplish those goals and much more! Do you realize we are only on week five now of the new year!? Only FOUR weeks of this new year have passed and you are already giving up?
Today a new month begins. A new month to start over. This time, take another approach to your goals, give yourself grace, and take things one step at a time, and you will see the difference that all makes.
The new year has only just begun and you still have eleven full months to achieve anything you want. Go for it!
